Barbara A. Diaz, Principal Designer

After 20 years in the beauty industry as an aesthetician, Barbara discovered her love for interior design in 2014 while attending her first design class. Following her formal training, she founded Suerte Designs, a San Diego–based interior design studio focused on creating thoughtful, livable residential interiors.

Suerte Designs takes a hands-on, collaborative approach, curating spaces that reflect how clients want to live and feel in their homes. Barbara is especially known for guiding clients through finish, fixture, and material selections for remodels and renovations—helping homeowners and contractors move projects forward with clarity, confidence, and cohesive design decisions.

Her work is driven less by a single style and more by intuition, emotion, and visual balance, resulting in spaces that feel personal, layered, and timeless.

Outside of design, Barbara enjoys Pilates, being in nature, baking, hiking, biking, and happy hour with friends.
